Malaysia Brickfields History

A Century and half earlier Brickfields was a town full of wooden houses and thatched roofs. A huge fire explosion occurred and destroyed the whole town in 1880, post which all the construction of houses was done using bricks and tiles. There is a gigantic brickyard within Little India constructed by an entrepreneur by the name Yap Ah Loy, which produced materials to build early Malaysia. Later on the Britishers constructed their Malayan Railways in that area. The labourers were migrated from India and Srilanka, and they never left Malaysia.
